- Which FineVu package should I choose?
- Choose the GX400 if you want high-quality forward recording and parking protection. Choose the GX1100 if you want 2K QHD coverage in both directions, plus the extra parking, battery and driver-assistance features. Both are supplied and professionally fitted, and both can be booked online with AccuKey®.
- Why does the GX1100 cost more than the GX400?
- The GX1100 is a bigger package. It adds a second 2K QHD camera covering the rear, Absolute Parking Guard that saves 10 seconds of footage before an impact as well as 10 seconds after, live motion detection from both cameras, a power-saving parking mode, AI heat monitoring, low-voltage cut-off, ADAS driver alerts and cloud access. The GX400 is a single front camera with parking protection.
- What's included in the GX1100 package?
- The FineVu GX1100 front and rear cameras, professional mobile installation at your home or workplace, and the 3-year manufacturer warranty from FineVu. The memory card and the power connection are confirmed for your vehicle when you book, so we bring the right parts for your car.
- What is Absolute Parking Guard?
- It's FineVu's parking protection. Most parking modes only start recording once an impact has happened, so they capture the aftermath. Absolute Parking Guard keeps a rolling buffer and saves 10 seconds of footage before the impact is detected plus 10 seconds after — from the front and rear cameras, in 2K — so you have the whole incident.
- What do AI heat monitoring and low-voltage cut-off do?
- AI heat monitoring watches the camera's temperature while parked: if it runs hot, it switches to power-saving parking mode and returns to motion mode once it cools. Low-voltage cut-off stops parking recording if your vehicle battery drops too low, so keeping watch never leaves you unable to start.
- Does the GX1100 have driver-assistance alerts?
- Yes. ADAS alerts cover front vehicle motion — an audible warning when the car in front moves off — and lane departure warning if you drift into another lane while driving. Both can be turned off in the FineVu app.
- How is the dash cam powered?
- The GX400 is installed using the FineVu OBD power cable, which connects to your vehicle's OBD port and supports parking recording. For the GX1100 we confirm the right power connection for your vehicle when you book, because its parking modes need a suitable permanent supply.
- Will parking recording work on my vehicle?
- Parking recording is supported through the OBD power connection. Exact behaviour depends on the vehicle, so we confirm the set-up for your vehicle when we fit it and show you how it works before we leave.
- Is it compatible with hybrid and electric vehicles?
- Both models are 12V/24V and suit hybrids and pure EVs. We check your vehicle at the time of booking and fit it with the appropriate power connection.
- How do I watch my footage?
- Through the FineVu smartphone app. The camera connects over Wi-Fi, so you can view, save and share clips from your phone without removing the memory card.
- Do the cameras have a screen?
- No. Both use a compact, screen-free design — there's nothing to distract you while driving, and the app handles everything else.
- What warranty comes with it?
- Both the GX400 and GX1100 come with a 3-year manufacturer warranty from FineVu. AccuKey® handles the professional installation. FineVu asks that the camera is registered within three months of purchase for the 3-year term to apply.
- Where do you install dash cams?
- We're a mobile service, so we fit at your home or workplace across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire — including Warrington — and suitable surrounding North West areas.
- How long does installation take?
- It depends on the vehicle and the routing of the cable. We'll give you a realistic appointment length when you book.
- Do you fit anything else at the same time?
- Yes. AccuKey® also supplies and fits CAN Phantom, a CAN-bus immobiliser — see our CAN Phantom Immobiliser page for details.
