Car key programming, done properly at your vehicle
A key is only useful once the vehicle accepts it. Programming is the process of introducing a compatible key to your car's immobiliser and body systems so it unlocks, starts and behaves like the original.
We do this at your vehicle with professional diagnostic and programming equipment, for keys we supply and, where suitable, keys you already have.

What we program
- Transponder keys — coding the chip so the immobiliser allows the engine to start
- Remote keys — pairing central locking, boot and alarm functions
- Smart and proximity keys — keyless entry and push-button-start systems
- Additional keys alongside those already programmed to the vehicle
Why the key has to be the right one
Programming cannot rescue an incompatible key. The frequency, chip type and key profile all have to match your exact vehicle, and a near-match bought online often cannot be coded at all.
That is a common reason people end up paying twice. We identify the correct key from your registration first, so the part and the procedure match the car.
Vehicle-specific procedures
Manufacturers implement key security differently, and the procedure can change between model years on the same badge. Some vehicles are coded through the diagnostic port; others need a longer sequence or access to specific modules.
We work within the manufacturer's intended service process under SERMI accreditation. We don't publish the detail of those procedures, for obvious reasons.

Common questions
- I bought a key online — can you program it?
- Sometimes. If it is genuinely the correct type for your vehicle it can often be coded; if it is not compatible, no amount of programming will make it work. Send us the details before you buy if you can.
- Does programming affect my existing keys?
- Normally no. Adding a key leaves your current ones working, unless a vehicle's procedure requires all keys to be re-presented, which we will explain beforehand.
- Can programming be done at my home?
- Yes — we are fully mobile. The vehicle needs to be present and accessible for the appointment.
